Install
Zekoder Desktop starts and manages its own local daemon, so the app is all you install.
Before you begin
Install and sign in to at least one coding agent on your computer. Zekoder Desktop has built-in support for Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, Pi, and Oh My Pi, and you can add more from Settings → Providers → Add provider.
The Zekoder workflow (plans, the Issues screen, Implement) runs on Claude Code and Codex by default. OpenCode and Oh My Pi are opt-in.
Download
Download the installer for your system from zekoder.com.

The Windows installer installs for your user only and lets you choose the folder.
Open the app the first time
macOS
If macOS says the app cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it:
- On macOS 15 or later, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and select Open Anyway.
- On earlier versions, Control-click Zekoder in Applications and choose Open.
You can also clear the quarantine flag from a terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Zekoder.app
Windows
If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", select More info, then Run anyway.
What you see on first launch
The app starts its local daemon, then shows the home screen with four tiles:
- Add a project: open a folder on your machine.
- Import session: bring in an agent session you started outside Zekoder.
- Setup providers: check which coding agents Zekoder found. Each provider shows Available, Not installed, Disabled, or Error.
- Pair device: connect another device to this computer's daemon.
Your computer appears as the first host. There is no Zekoder account to create or sign in to.
Updates
Zekoder Desktop checks for updates every 30 minutes and downloads them in the background. When one is ready, an Update available notice offers Install & restart. Installing stops running agents and closes terminal sessions, so pick a quiet moment. See Settings and updates for release channels.
